Tarik Yousef Previews New MEYI Book at University of Southern California

Yousef at YAL Annual Forum, Courtesy: Paul Dyer, May 2009On September 17, Tarik Yousef led a seminar at the University of Southern California (USC) School of Policy, Planning, and Development on the forthcoming Middle East Youth Initiative volume Generation in Waiting: The Unfulfilled Promise of Young People in the Middle East (Brookings Institution Press, 2009).

Generation in Waiting, edited by Navtej Dhillon, director of the Middle East Youth Initiative, and Yousef, contains research by a number of scholars in the MEYI network, including Ragui Assaad, Brahim Boudarbat, Jad Chaaban, Nader Kabbani, Taher Kanaan, Djavad Salehi-Isfahani and Edward Sayre. The volume is due out in the fall of 2009.

Yousef reports back that the USC seminar was lively and engaging. Jeffrey Nugent, professor of economics at USC, served as a discussant. The event flyer is available here with additional information.
