Youth Ambassador Samar Mezghanni speaks at Arab Summit in Kuwait

Source: Samar Mezghanni, Arab Summit Private Sector and Civil Society Forum, January 2009Middle East Youth Initiative Youth Ambassador Samar Mezghanni from Tunisia was chosen to attend the recent Arab Economic, Social and Development Summit in Kuwait as a youth representative from the region.

The summit was attended by seventeen heads of state from Arab League countries and numerous other political officials and business leaders. On the opportunity to speak to before an audience of Arab leaders at the summit, Samar says: “I am very optimistic about the ability of youth to participate in such summits. Just a month or two ago, I never would have thought this was be possible. But now, the dream of having young people sit next to Arab leaders and influence their decisions has become a reality.”

Samar also had the opportunity to address the Private Sector and Civil Society Forum that was held on January 18, preceding the summit. Samar spoke during a session about youth and migration, health, and unemployment.
